Prejudice

If others’ behaviour is not completely understandable to us, their cognition is regarded as biased. I am wondering whether there are any ordinary people without cognitive biases. Therefore, when considering other people’s behaviour as bias, you are trapped in a huge prejudice.

True wisdom is not the left, nor the right, nor the middle. Actually, we are all ordinary people, and everyone has his or her own lifestyle, way of Buddhist practices, and karma, as well as causes and conditions. Taking mountaineering as an example, everyone is an alpinist but may choose a different route and various equipment. Hence, there is really no need to turn a cold shoulder to others, just because their routes or shoes are different from ours.

Please do remember. Due to your unique track of Karma, your route will fit no one else but yourself, nor anyone else, nor your husband, nor your children, nor your most unfavourite Buddhist practiser. Moreover, the only person who knows which route will fit you and others is not anyone else but your lama, especially not you.

Hence, in the face of things uncomfortable to your Karma-oriented eyes, please restrict your prejudice, maintain your self-awareness and focus on your own way. All you should do is waste no time to complete the chosen route and reach the apex, instead of gazing around and judging others’ posture, as that is unrelated to you.

  偏见

    当我们对别人的言行不够理解时，就会觉得他的认知是有偏差的。但试问哪一个凡夫的知见没有偏差，当你把别人的言行定义为偏见时，此时你已经处在巨大的偏见中。

    真正的智慧不是左，也不是右，更不是中间。我们都是凡夫人，每个人都有自己的业力因缘、自己的生活和自己不同的修行之路。大家就像在登山一样，只是路不同、装备不同。我们实在没有必要因为别人与我们走的路的不同或者穿的鞋不同，就去冷眼看待。

    请记住，因为你的业力轨迹，你的路只适合你一个人，并不适合除你之外的任何一个众生，也包括你的老公，你的孩子，以及你最看不惯的师兄。而唯一了解你和他人该走哪条路的人，只有你的导师，而非其他人，更不是你。

    所以，再看到不适合你的业力眼睛所接受的事物时，请收起偏见，观察自心，走自己的路。你要做的唯一的一件事就是抓紧时间走自己的路，登自己的山，而不是左顾右盼看别人登山的姿势对不对，那与你无关。
